Thank you for visiting my page and/or making an appointment at Spray Tans Coorparoo, I am very much looking forward to meeting/seeing you! The below is VERY detailed, however if followed it will ensure your Spray Tans appointment goes off without a hitch, it also hopefully answers any questions you might have.

My temporary address as of the 1st March 2021 is 12 Duhig Avenue, Coorparoo, I am a home based salon. When you arrive please head to the garage and you will see my salon. If the street is busy please feel free to park in my driveway.  As you can see via my socials we are building a brand new home and salon at our old address (13 Rowland Street, Coorparoo) which should be done late 2021 early 2022. You can follow the progress of the salon build here

I offer solutions from as little as 1 hour, all the way to 8 hours developing time, in a range of percentages (depths). I suggest coming 2 days prior to an event, however if you can't make it I also have options available for the day before, or day of your event.  If you are unsure which tan to book (Mine Tan, Nikki Mitchell or Bella Bronze) please select the ‘unsure which tan to select’ option and when you come in we can discuss the best options for your skin and depth that you are after. Please be aware I am a female only salon.

To get the most flawless tan possible I suggest following these guidelines (its ok… life happens, if you don’t get to follow these guidelines to a T I won’t judge )

  • Please try to shave or wax at least  24-48 hours prior to your Spray Tan appointment. This gives your skin time to settle and your pores to close

  • Please  try to shower and exfoliate at least 2 hours before your tan, it will provide a more long last result and ensures a smooth, clean surface to apply the tan. Please avoid having a super hot shower or vigorous exercise just before you come for you tan, its hard to apply tan to a hot body

  • When exfoliating please pay attention to elbows, knees, ankles, chest, underarms and problem dry areas

  • The more you condition and moisturise your skin in the days prior and after your tan, the better result you will have

  • The entire 24 hours before coming for your tan, avoid using bar soaps, high pH shower products, oil based broducts or in-shower moisturisers. These products may act as a barrier against your skin

  • If you have eczema, dry skin, sunburn, peeling skin etc, I cannot guarantee a perfect tan, please discuss with me when coming for your appointment

  • If you take any type of skin medications (Roaccutane etc) or Thyroid Medications please let me know, these can often interact with your Spray Tan

  • Please avoid coming to your appointment wearing moisturiser, deodorant or perfume on your skin

  • Please wear loose fitting dark clothing

  • I provide paper g-strings, sticky feet, hairnets, hair ties, baby wipes and have umbrellas on hand to get you to your car if it is raining

  • You are more than welcome to wear your own underwear when you are tanning, some of my clients tan totally naked, some with underwear only and some in a bikini or disposable G-string. I am easy going and it is most important to me that YOU feel comfortable!

The most important step after your spray tan is the shower process!

  • After the development time is up, shower quickly for 45 secs, with luke warm water,  DO NOT USE USE HOT WATER. It stops the development of tan actives

  • It will appear that most of your tan is washing off, this is just excess bronzer, do not be alarmed. Most tans take a full 12-24 hours to develop.  If you have any streaks or imperfections in your tan, DO NOT SCRUB, this is excess bronzer that will come off with your 2nd shower and as the tan develops

  • Don’t use shower gels, scrubs, shampoos or loofer during the first 24 hours after your treatment

  • Pat your skin dry. Do not rub or scrub your skin

  • Moisturise the following day after your tan and then everyday onwards. The more you keep your skin hydrated the longer the tan will last

  • Avoid soaking in the bath or long hot showers as this will shorten the life of your tan

  • Chlorine and Salt water will reduce the life of your tan

  • For the 24 hours following your Spray Tan it is suggested to avoid ALL swimming, saunas and vigorous exercise as sweating can inhibit the development of your tan.

  • After day 5 a good tan extender is suggested if you wish to prolong your colour

  • After day 6, exfoliate with a soft body polish/mitt on a daily basis, to help your skin absorb even more moisture, this also helps the tan fade naturally, rather than in patches

  • If you still have a fair amount of tan build up before your next appointment, soak in the bath with some coconut oil and use an exfoliating mitt or cloth to remove excess tan

I hope this covers all bases and I really do look forward to seeing you in salon!
